Dream Bigger: Go Farther!
The Carbon Fiber Body began with a gift from Boeing and with Lancair's Facility
Lancair was incredibly helpful to our team. They advised and guided our rework to get the forms into shape to use them. This required many hours of sanding and filling. The next step was to layup the carbon fiber in the forms. In the picture in the left our team is laying up fiberglass over several layers of carbon fiber. Lancair employees were there to instruct and correct. After the layup is complete the body was baked in an oven the size of a large shipping container. Lancair's participation was essential in helping us make the car's body and frame.
Lancair builds a million dollar plane called the Evolution at their facility near the Redmond Airport. Our team members also worked with OSU team members to create their body as well. OSU had given their forms to us and we had them when their first car produced from the forms was destroyed in a fire created by their batteries.
